Agency to receive $1,000 for the Mid-South Tennessee Chapter of the American Red Cross in recognition of its service to Shelby County

Shelby County, TN – On Thursday, August 27, at 10:00 a.m., the Shelby County Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (SCEMHSA) will be awarded with the National Life Group’s Do Good Heroes Award for its commitment to protecting, preparing, and serving communities throughout Shelby County.
During the ceremony, SCEMHSA will be presented with a Do Good Heroes Award Certificate, Do Good Heroes Banner, and a $1,000 check benefiting the Mid-South Tennessee Chapter of the American Red Cross.
SCEMHSA was nominated for the Do Good Heroes Award by Lamonte B. Bethea of Our Infinite Company/National Life Group, for their service to Shelby County. The agency helps prepare the community for emergencies, coordinates response and recovery efforts, and supports residents and public safety partners when emergencies occur.
